Topic: Understanding, Enabling and Supporting Public Access to Woodlands

This ARG session welcomed Liz O’Brien a principal social scientist within the Society and Environment Group and Joe Beesley a spatial scientist in the Land Use and Ecosystem Services Group at Forest Research. They presented on a recently completed Nature for Climate Fund (NCF) project focused on ‘Understanding, enabling and supporting public access to woodlands’. This presentation outlined their spatial analysis of existing access to woodlands, outlined land managers views on access, and highlighted the challenges and opportunities of diverse public’s in accessing woodland.
