The massive growth in digital data and new technologies is opening up opportunities to research and understand the outdoor recreation market. Innovative approaches can generate new insights – for example using apps to capture the experiences of people out in the field. People are also more willing to share personal experiences, through competitive apps or through online communities.
The seminar is an opportunity to learn about the latest research and ideas surrounding digital data, new technologies and applications for outdoor recreation research.
Some of the practical and methodological issues of using these new approaches will be explored in facilitated workshops. There will also be the opportunity to get hands on experience through practical demonstrations of field lab technologies.
